New Maps

The map Volcano Valley was added to the custom map game the other night and I thought it was a fun map. Had to play it by myself but I got the impression it would be even more fun with lots of players and all the bots on the other team. I'm also adding the following maps to the Downloads Section now:

Basrahs Edge
El Alamein
Guadalcanal
Invasion of the Phillipines
Invasion of the Coral Sea

I should have them loaded on the server sometime today so expect to see them running soon. They're all remakes of BF1942/DC maps that I've played a thousand times, so I'm expecting them to be just as good in BF2.

Apparently Basrahs Edge and El Alamein are single player maps - no co-op. I'll take a better look at them later and see if they can be modified. Too bad, they were both fun maps. The rest are running though . . . .

How many maps have you got access to Kil as I have just about got all the maps that work for all formats of the game. I know of what ones work and what ones do not work.

Let me download those 2 and see if i can navmesh them and add the bots.

Well the navmesh was already there, I just had to add the game mode for coop.

I've tested both of them and they work on coop

Another very good map and it is very intense.......
Allthough raptor will have to play with it first as it is only a Singleplayer map.

I'm having problems with volcano valley. it is in my levels and every time I try to join the server I crash to desk top...anyone else having this problem. I already checked inside the folder and I don't think I need to create another one so......help:)

update: until further notice the Volcano Valley download is no good... Steve said to go to file planet and get it.

Anyone have a link for Water_Treatment_Plant that does not involve an executable?

If all you have is an .exe file then tell it to unpack to a folder of your choice,
next open your BF2 folder found usually in EA GAMES folder.
Now go through the following route.
mods/bf2/levels and cut and paste the file here.
You should have the map file in your game now.

My problem is having to run an executable in order to get a BF2 map seems an absurd and entirely unnecessary security risk. The exe file, (a self extracting executable perhaps?), being placed within a zip file along with a text file that offers no reason WHY this is an executable, does not instill confidence in its author's ability or motivation.

Anyone have a link for Water_Treatment_Plant that does not involve an executable?

Bump. If you didn't get your "Volcano Valley" download from file planet, your copy is likely corrupt and will crash your game when joining a server that is running this map.

Strange every time I download that map from file planet it is corrupt for me. the only place I have been able to get it, is at gamershell.
Also my speed is limited at file planet and not at gamershell.
