View Full Version : Players ask me why?

I don't play BF2 Vanilla much.
Well here is my answer!
I just had the most wonderful game NOT!!!!
The map was Strike at Karkland.
As always the armor did not want to attack.
So I got the tank and charged in but died but that is not important, the important thing is I never sat back shooting fish in a barrel.
I then went on to be commander, at this point bluegirl and blooIggy got the flag at the hotel.
They where the only ones really going for it out of 12 players.
Once this flag was taken the only players trying to aggesively attack the square were Bluegirl and BlooIggy.
The rest just sat back and killed the little fishes in the barrel, I asked the squad with all the armor to attack 4 times and every time I asked they said NO.
It's the lack of TEAM play on this server that puts me off playing on it.
As for AIX2 get more that 6 playing and there is good team work in game.
PR is the same plenty of team work and that is what I enjoy the most, but I'm stuck here in the UK so my PR time is limited.
Yes even I admit I will sit and shoot the little fishes but only once they are down to one flag.
Just like on Operation Clean Sweep this was the first map I played and with the use of the Heli and it was fully loaded we took the far base, the team was holding this base and getting more than a fair share of the enemy, so when I died I respawned at the main base jumped into the chopper and flew over to the first outpost and took that flag on my own, there were only 3 enemy units there so it was easy.
After that I got the tank and went fish shooting, they only had one flag left.
Well that's my thoughts now I will take all the digs you have.
But this is just my opinion, everyone is different, probably a good thing or the world would be rather boring don't you think!!!!

Well, it seemed like only BlooIggy and I were trying to cap the flag, because we (BlooIggy and I) spawned at the back base but all the vehicles were gone, so we had to walk. So everyone else probably saw that the vehicles were taken and spawned in closer. Rushed in, tried to stay and kill bots, and died. Personally, I try not to engage the enemy while rushing for the first flag. Because then it is bot after bot. If poke my head around a corner and bam, there he is, then yeah I'm going to shoot him. Anyways, since you were the squad leader and spawned in at the back because you knew you were going to be commander, by the time I was squad leader all the dead people had already spawned in and were halfway there with a neutral flag. But the people did try to help me because they were killing the bots coming up the stairs. I just hid in the corner with my knife out.

For me, out of the 12 or 13 times I blindly ran into battle in hopes of capturing square, not once did I think about the armor moving up. Partly because I just rush out there and hope that I make it and partly because I do my own theme music. Sometimes I like to spice it up by picking up other kits while running to the hole or running out with a shotgun.

I play here because of like minded players,i do try and take flags on my own or with other team members,on my own its usually the forlorn hope, but sometimes, like strike at karkand in the square you jump in the hole at the flag and someone jumps in with you and gives you health, then someone else jumps in and gives you ammo, you have each others back, you support each other and you take the flag, thats why i play here, thats why i come back again and again and again, keep up the good team play people and remember why we play, its still fun.

Tea oot......love ya

Very well said Tea :)

Perhaps we can infect more vanilla noobs with similar team spirit by setting such examples for them.

I go into the vanilla games just to relax and monitor the game play (except for 2 maps)
I also know team play here will be very lax because of all the noobs to our server(except if the regulars are on) but I expect this so ill try to take the flags and if one or two join me in the attempt that’s cool if not no big deal. And if one or two does follow me into battle for the rest of the map and they type in, that’s the most fun I have had on this map,
Then mission accomplished. He/she will be back and sooner or later hell play with all our regular players and know why Team-Nitro is a better place to play. And how much fun it is here.

I offer a big salute to all who were in my squad yesterday afternoon (Saturday, June 19th) when we attacked and took the last flag at Strike at Karkand. Good teamwork, medics, support, in-close weapons, etc. And thanks to the Commander for shelling and dropping supplies for us.

It's a great feeling when that happens, a good sense of team work is a warm and fuzzy and feels nice all over. :D:D:D:D:D
You feel like you have achived the impossible.

Today was also an excellent day for team play on Vanilla.
Operation Clean Sweep saw the air crews work hard to capture the Su34 & the ground troops take 2 flags in quick succession.
Apart from 1 noob team-shooting at the aircraft (booted quickly thnx to bluegirl) & a couple of accidental TKs, all went well.
Karkand was an example of teamwork at it's finest, I saw no camping (other than holding the line in stages) & we came very close to taking the last flag. Bloo Iggy & I were tank crew for the 1st 10 mins or so & used it to flank the Market flag & decimate the bots & the T90, trying to flank the Square.
A very good effort by all involved. :)

Tbob, I only tried to attack square because the other non-regs took the armor and had no idea of the tactic of kill/push/support/defend. So in all fun, Blue and I decided to go to the hole on foot, experimenting with the shotguns and AT rockets in the little alley way. Doesn't bother me that non-regs hog the vehicles, that only promotes new regulars yay! There is always ways around to have some explosive fun. Without tanks and APCs.

TIP: If anybody decides to be medic while on an attacking run in Karkand, kill the bot in front of you first before reviving the fallen. I hate it when my medic revives me but does not secure the relative area, only to see another grenade bouncing under my feet and kills us both.

10-4, Next time im a medic and you die and theres just to much heat for one medic to take care of with only 30 bullets at a time i'll leave your corps there to bleed out.

I would rather that than wait another 30 seconds to respawn. In 30 seconds I could probably make another 3-4 kills. This tactic only works if you are exposed in a flat surrounding like square in karkand or the large wooded area in operation harvest. Where the squadleader survival is more important than the individual. But... If you are playing close quarters combat like Qaza Diza or Cliff Attack, you need all the fire power you can get so reviving that medic that just died would probably balance out your deaths and be a benefit to you and your team

I was revived by a bot medic the other day on Jalalabad (however u spell it) 4 times in a row in the midst of enemy fire, I was laughing so much tears came.
