Only thing that sucks about it is that it doesn't support XP. Time to upgrade.

Yes indeed, XP is on it's way out. Besides if you wanted to enjoy all the graphical glory you would have to upgrade to at least Vista (probably Win7 if it requires DX11)

OMG yes I'm getting a job and a better graphics card for this game xD

Well at least the xp64bit side is safe!!!!

and yes I have a copy of dx11 running in XP64bit mode someone high up in the world of PC's showed me how!!!!

But it only works if you have 80gig (minimum) of ram or more with a graphics card that has 4gig (minimum) on board!!!!

Also another game I got a rumour from work today 2nd of December this year finally comming out is......DIABLO III

At flippin last I shouted down the phone to lots of laughing from my boss I my have added a few less nice words at the time but thought better not put them here LOL!!!!

I notice that BF3 has at least 2 major differences from Bad Company 2 already:
1. Support for 64 players (instead of just 32)
2. COOP!!!

About those two specific differences: Surely for those of us wanting all the eye-candy (graphics) up to the max, some serious RAM and good Graphics card(s) will be needed to keep play smooth. That comment of course excludes tinybob. lol

I'm sure 4GB of RAM + a top-notch Graphics card will be more than enough to play on a 64 player COOP server with max graphics. What are your thoughts on the matter?

Another thought - I know that we have at least 10 months before BF3 is released, but will team-nitro consider hosting BF3 COOP servers? I'd definitely chip in for the extra costs :-)

Well Bad Company wasn't supposed to be the successor to BF2, quite a bit different gameplay. I would have to guess it is more like the COD franchise, more of an arcadey shooter, whereas BF2 tried to be a bit more sim. Now with BF3, we should be expecting everything from BF2, with improvements in visuals, hopefully bigger maps/more and jsut generally 1ups from BF2. I kind of expect the intricate unlocking/ranking of the kit gear to come over from BFBC2, that seems the way shooters are going now I guess.

I'm going to guess minimum system requirements something like 2gb ram, dual core 3ghz+, and midrange 4xx nvidia series gpu or midrange AMD 6xxx series gpus. That should play it comfortably. Since Bad Company can utilize at least a quad core now, and they are using the same engine, I will guess for best performance you will want Quad core 2.5ghz+, 4gb ram, and high end nvidia 4xx(5xx) or higher end AMD 6xxx series gpu(s).

They already released system req. for crysis 2 and they weren't really that bad, and I can't imagine this game being that much if at all tougher to run.

I'm guessing that it's only a teaser trailer, they will probably pull off something epic a couple months prior to release.

Question is will they actually release the game when they say they are.
I'm still waiting for the PC version of BF1943 I pre-ordered in January 2010. The original release was supposed to be August 31st 2009, then got shifted back to 1st Quarter 2010. BUT see my quote below
I for one will wait until it actually releases before I part with any cash this time.

I saw this from Karl Troedsson the GM of Dice the other day

This is one of those cross roads where I need to make a hard decision. While we’ll continue supporting Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and previous games, it’s time to look ahead to the next giant leap for DICE – the release of Battlefield 3, powered by the mighty Frostbite 2 engine. Our goal is crystal clear: we’re going to build the best Battlefield game ever, and we’ll do whatever it takes to make this the biggest launch in DICE’s history.

We know some of you eagerly have been awaiting Battlefield 1943 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Onslaught on PC. I’m sad to say that these two titles are now officially cancelled. Instead, our talented teams will focus on delivering the greatest possible gaming experience in our next behemoth release. We’re confident this will lead to an even better experience in Battlefield 3, not only on PC, but on all platforms.

So I hope he is going to stick with this. The PC side of Dice / EA seem to get the bad deal when it comes to gaming these days

BF1943 was cancelled, as was the Onslaught mode for Bad Company 2, Source (http://www.overclock.net/video-game-news/931922-ign-battlefield-1943-pc-cancelled.html)

You should get any money back for that pre-order.

Ya the trailer didn't show anything, just the name and some music basically. I guess it is a teaser. The game is still a ways off so any good trailers or gameplay footage will probably be popping up later. Maybe we will even get a demo :D

But can you spot enemy boats!? There is no point in playing if you can't.

Hahahaha, good one friend. Games cannot be won until the enemy boat has been spotted retreating :p

I have to agree, Battlefield 1942 had so many more options available for its time.
-Capture the Flag
-Controllable Cruise Missiles
-Submarines, Destroyers, and Carriers - with the feature of (sinking) blowing them up and full control!
-Artillery firing with a spotter (Even BF2 doesn't have that feature)
-SCUD Missiles, Multi-Rocket launchers... I love those things
-Machine gunner seat in planes (facing rearward).

I sure hope they bring back many of the features that made BF1942 and BF2 so darn popular! The ones I mentioned above are just a few of the things I wish would come back...It's the ability to play anywhere you want with so many people as a team that I believe makes the Battlefield franchise so popular. Whether you want to snipe, fly planes/choppers, or just mow people down with tanks and machine guns - your gameplay style is available! :)
Even better yet - BF3 on TEAM servers :) Now that's A+ quality fun coming at ya!

Mytrap, You hit the nail on the head with your comments on the teaser for BF3. Personally, I believe what EA released was merely a "Teaser of a Teaser." Wouldn't you agree? I think EA is just trying to get us to hang on a little longer to their current franchises so we don't flee to newer games that have been released by competitors.

MisterPWN

That is an interesting point about EA prolonging releasing newer games to get our money. I don't think it is necessarily that, I mean look at the CoD franchise. They are probably raking in the most cash of all the FPS, and they release a new game about every year or so. That game caters to a different crowd though, at least the money is solid from the people who like that style of game or rather buy into the marketing of it ha.

We just got Bad Company not to long ago, which was DICE's last big project, and BF3 seems to be there next (current). They haven't really done any huge games that I can think of before BC2 though (at least from BC2 to BF2). Not sure what games they did in that time lapse. Mirror's Edge was one.

I have a feeling we will be getting all the kit options of Bad Company, some of those toys as well as new ones and old ones. I don't think I ever played 1942, it sounds amazing just from those few things you just listed :O

Yeah they said they didn't want the PC version to seem in any way a port from the xbox or ps3 they're fine tuning each game to their system, and making extra effort for the PC version. I'm soooo glad for this!
