Thanks Kill,

For putting up the AIX again its really fun to get a change from the regular weapons and maps.

The server was good for the most part, only random spots of lag. But the same problem with team damage cost us. Every time we damaged ourself we got negative score.

So i will put up my server for a couple days and see if it holds up.

Let me know i there is any problem with me doing this.
Otherwise enjoy for now;)

If you search and dont find it....uncheck PB on the filters
Its not running PB

Hopefully in a few days we'll be able to run an AIX game all the time. For those of you who are new to the AIX mod, you will learn very quickly that all those better, more powerful weapons have one serious disadvantage that you have not dealt with in regular BF2: more teamkills and more team damage. The team vehicle damage is particularly difficult to deal with, but that's just how the mod is. It's very easy to get enough negative score from just one bomb drop to get yourself kicked out of the game.

All the other co-op AIX game providers that I know of lower the friendly fire settings to compensate for this. I will not. If the game is going to be ranked along with the other games, then the friendly fire settings must be at 100% just like all the other games. It's much easier to get combat points in the AIX mod - MUCH EASIER - so it's understandable that it's also easier to get teamkills and team damage. I think it makes you a smarter player because if it. Unlike BF2 and Special Forces, you have to actually look around and assess the situation before releasing a weapon. If you simply fire everytime you see an enemy - or everytime you get the lock tone - your teamkills will go through the roof very quickly.

My problem with the team damage is that is bugged bad. You cant go a round without losing points some how. Ive read many threads of ppl complaining about this and it is recognized by the devs. They say that v1.1 this issue will be rectified. IMO the AIX server doesnt have to be ranked. We could just play there and have fun. We arent getting very many tk's but we would all have a team damage of 1,000,000 over the course of the next few months. 4 or 5 times mytrap was tk'd by a bot while he was just sitting capping a flag...in comes the hero bot fireing missiles from his jet. Anyways i cant wait till v1.1 and untill then maybe unranked is the way.

This is a post from Frapper 21 on the AIX forum

Well!
I have seen many have a hilarious negative score, players write in the main chat, Wtf? what have I done?
I have tested this out some more... here is what I came up with.

1. If you shoot one round with the pistol on a friendly chopper you get 1-minus for team vehicle damage. 4 shots = -4 points.
2. If you fly a chopper, (atleast on Refinery map) you get minus points if you bump into trees or anything, anything that will damage the chopper, will give you minus points... I just finished a round with -38. not one single teamkill.
3. I got a minus point for hurting a friendly while running besides him and we hit each others shoulders...
4. I bet there are tons of simular things.

It's too easy to teamkill, and team damage, with bullets flying everywhere, there is a big chance one bullet might strike your own tank, chopper, jeep and what not and you will get minus for it... this is the problem. it must be fixed right?

the mod in itself is great. I dont give a durn about the score, but its frustating to get kick from the servers with minus score, hence the problem!

Hello to all,

Thanks Kil for providing the AIX server. It's tons of fun and a great change of pace. As in any game BF2 gets repetitive and a bit monotonous unless you change pace once in a while. This mod is certainly like a shot of adrenaline to the game. Testing out the new weapons, discovering the hidden kits in certain maps, flying the new heli's and just trying to come up with different strategies is a blast.

Yesterday LG, mytrap and I were flying the WWI planes in ZZZ Easter Island. You could hear us laughing and commenting on the action taking place. Like riding a roller coaster for the first time...what a woot :D. Wish more members had been there.

As far as the patch, I was playing with someone on another server yesterday who said that the 1.1 patch will come out maybe as early as this month or the beginning of June. He claimed he knew the 2 major contributors to the mod. I can't comment on the veracity of this claim but I am passing it along.

Finally, a BIG thanks to LG for providing his computer as a temporary server, solution to the tk problem. Thx for changing the name of the bots. I had the pleasure of shooting down a bot only to find out it was named EVIL SkyeWalker. I think that might have been my father...
